| Certified Angus Beef® at Baesler's
- February 5, 2008
Baseler's Market at 29th and Poplar in Terre Haute has been recognized by the Certified Angus Beef® brand as the nation's fifth largest seller of its product among single store retailers.
The Certified Angus Beef® brand is the industry's largest. More than 1.6 million pounds are sold daily at more than 13,500 restaurants and grocery stores in 30 countries. Certified Angus Beef® has to pass 10 additional specifications above USDA Prime, Choice and Select to earn the name.
Bob Baesler, owner of Baesler's Market, said, "Only 8 percent of all beef meets this brand's high standards. We're happy to give our customers the best tasting beef on the market today, and we're glad they enjoy Certified Angus so much that they've made us a top seller of the brand in the nation."
Sales of Certified Angus Beef® are ranked by the company in eight retailer categories, from single store retailer to large chains with more than 50 stores. Baesler's ranking compared its sales with other reporting single store sales across the country.
The Certified Angus Beef® brand is the only brand owned by the American Angus Association® and its 35,000 rancher members. It was founded in 1978 by Angus cattle producers who wanted to increase the demand for registered Angus cattle through a specification-based, branded-beef program that identified consistent, high-quality beef with superior taste. Today, Certified Angus Beef LLC (CAB) is a nonprofit subsidiary of the American Angus Association®. The company owns the Certified Angus Beef® trademarks and licenses companies to identify and promote beef that meets the brand's strict quality standards.
