The Baesler's Market Deli has added chicken wings to its hot food bar. In creating the chicken wing offerings, Baesler's carried out its ongoing commitments to freshness, quality and unique variety.
Baesler's takes delivery of fresh chicken wings twice a week, meaning the wings are never frozen. "A lot of people have wings, but we searched until we found the size and consistent quality we were happy with," said Cindy Roads, Deli Manager for Baesler's. Baesler's offers both regular and boneless wings, in an unmatched variety of flavors including barbecue, mild, hot, sweet 'n spicy plum, zesty orange and sweet 'n spicy honey. "We'll try anything," Roads said.
The chicken wings have zero trans fat, an important health benefit when any fried food is concerned. "A lot of our customer base is very health conscious, and they actually have called us back to thank us for what we've done with the wings," Roads said. The wing preparation also has been enhanced by another local product, "OilFlex™," which is made by Clabber Girl Corporation of Terre Haute. OilFlex™ is added to the liquid shortening and helps prevent oil from absorbing into food. OilFlex™ also improves flavor by providing separation of flavors in the frier, Roads said, meaning a batch of chicken wings will not pick up the flavor from a previous batch of another product, such as fish. OilFlex™ is a very new product that fits in with Baesler's dedication to staying on the cutting edge and supporting local businesses.
Chicken wings are available during all store hours, and customers can phone in their order by calling 232-2498.
