Customers are noticing something new in the produce department at Baesler's Market, and it's helping them as they shop.
The store has added an informational kiosk that provides recipes and helpful tips on how to shop for and prepare a variety of healthful meals. The "Food Tips and Recipes" kiosk delivers extensive food, health and lifestyle content to answer customer questions.
"As our customers continue to take more responsibility for their health and well-being, they are always looking for information and products to help them meet their goals," said store owner, Bob Baesler. "Our new kiosk was designed to give them the information they need to make educated shopping decisions right at the point when they are shopping."
By using the touch screen, shoppers can find hundreds of easy, tasty, family-friendly recipes; more than 450 articles on how to buy, store and prepare meat, seafood, produce, cheese, wine, other foods; and information on nutrition and healthy eating. Store associates can assist customers who need help exploring the information.
The kiosk, located in the produce area, can print out the customer's information, including shopping lists of products for selected recipes. Recipes can be searched by category, for example by ingredients or by menu course, and they include wine pairing suggestions and "Make it a Meal" side dish solutions.
"The kiosk has been well received," Baesler said. "We see customers carrying the lists printed out from the kiosk as they do their shopping."
