Wouldn't it be convenient if you could do your gift shopping for the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, new babies and graduations at the same time you do your regular weekly grocery shopping? Now you can do just that when you shop at Baesler's Market.
For the convenience of customers, Baesler's at 29th & Poplar in Terre Haute has installed the Gift Card Mall™, a display from which you can purchase prepaid gift cards from a wide variety of retail outlets and restaurants.
"This new feature in the store is not only convenient, it's really practical," said Baesler's owner Bob Baesler. "Consumer surveys have shown us that more than 80 percent of gift recipients would prefer to do their own shopping with a gift card from a favorite store."
The gift card market has grown from almost nothing in 2000 to sales of $45 billion in 2006. During last year's holiday season, 76% of adults purchased some sort of gift card, with the average customer spending $88 on them, or about 16% of their holiday budget.
Having a selection of gift cards available at Baesler's is convenient when doing holiday shopping because of the variety of cards offered at the Gift Card Mall. Shoppers can save time by going to a single location - in this case their favorite grocery store - and picking up a different card for each person on their list.
It's also a convenience for shoppers who remember at the last minute they need a gift, or who want to thank a friend for a favor, congratulate a child for a recent accomplishment or even reward an employee for a job well done. They can just pick up a gift card as they buy their groceries, Baesler said.
"The Gift Card Mall really does offer a card suitable for almost everyone," Baesler explained, "from restaurant gift cards to department and specialty stores." Many are local, but for those that are not, the card can be used when you travel outside the area or shop online.
Cards to be offered on the Baesler's Gift Card Mall include Chili's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Starbucks, Blockbuster, Marriott, Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Foot Locker, Gators. Home Depot, Kohl's, Nordstrom, Old Navy, Sears and Toys R Us.
