Baesler's Market was recently honored with the Exchange Club of Terre Haute's "Proudly We Hail" award. "No symbol better signifies our nation's greatness than our American flag - the Stars and Stripes," said Exchange Club member Lynn May. "The 'Proudly We Hail' program encourages regular display of the flag by individuals, commercial establishments and industries."
 The program promotes Americanism as well as community recognition by the Exchange Club of Terre Haute. Bob and Julie Baesler accepted the specially designed plaque presented at a meeting of the club in January.
May said every Exchange member can participate in the program, because it is the individual member who watches for and nominates potential recipients. The Baesler's nomination came from club member John Kesler, Sr.
"The award given to Baesler's Market this year was for exceptional display of our colors," Kesler explained. "We are very proud of them for their patriotism regarding our American flag."
Bob Baesler said, "After 9/11 we wanted to display the flag above the store as a symbol of hope for our country. We chose a very large flag that we were able to display where it is very visible to the public. We appreciate this recognition from the Exchange Club."
